Dark Souls: Gaping Dragon

Now if any of you readers have seen the youtube videos of how "hard" the Gaping Dragon is then you may want to keep ready because I'm going to give you a sure fire way to easily kill this "hard" beast.

Now the sewers isn't all that bad though you may want to save some humanity for this area, the Basilisks here are a bit of a pain as they tend to come in groups and do an annoying jump attack where they of course jump into the air and spray out their curse fog that does take up a section of the hallways of the sewers. It you manages to get the ring that increases your curse bar you should be fine but again be careful as the fog actually fills the bar rather fast.

Now as you travel though the sewers you'll find its mostly inhabited by Basilisks and rats, and maybe a few slime's depending on where you are but they aren't that much trouble but there are a few fog gates and they all lead to the boss room TECHNICALLY because some of the places it puts you over looks the boss room but does not activate the fight so be wary when entering them. Your main objective upon entering here is to try to get to the top of he boss room, and this part might be a bit difficult, a few large rats and a caster in here and why is this area so important you ask? Well if you don't kill the caster the boss battle might actually be a bit tougher because while your fighting the Gaping Dragon the caster will well cast on the dragon making his attacks strong, and his defenses more stonewall...uh laugh.

But anyway you kill the caster and proceed down to the depths of the sewers and I don't exactly remember the path but as long as your careful you should make it down there with enough flasks to keep you safe. Now upon entering the area this creature may look big an menacing but there is one sure fire way to beat him (Trust me I was a level 23 when I went up against him and beat him in one try.) Now I know this may seem crazy but your gonna want to run up to him this way there is only two attacks he will do; he will either A) slam his spikes into the ground getting stuck giving you access to his face for easy attacks or go for his tail if you want a goody good weapon. or 2) he will vomit yes vomit on the ground, do not get caught in this area attack and trust me the area is huge, now vomit may not sound bad but it will decay your armor durability down to nothing so watch out for that. But if he chooses to be nice and keeps doing the slam he will be easy to take down the only thing you will have to watch out for is when he charges you after getting unstuck its easy to doge just run off to the side and he'll run straight ahead this will leave him open for a tail attack to get said weapon.

Now once your successful in killing the Gaping Dragon he will drop humanity as bosses do some souls a Key to Blighttown the worst place in the game and if you were able to cut off his tail congrats you will get (drum roll)

This is the Dragon King Great Axe its pretty strong a 360 base damage but the only thing is again its a great weapon but the cost of getting it early is you cant use it unless your using a tank build cause the strength requirements are you need 50 strength and 8 dexterity but it'll be worth it just like the Drake sword which has a two handed special attack the Great Axe has a two handed area of effect but the thing is just like with the Drake sword using the two handed attack wears its durability down but the Drake sword only lost 30 the Great Axe loses a whopping 50 durability points for every use of the two handed AOE attack so be wise in using it. As always enjoy your souls and weapon and keep reading for the next bosses hints and if you need any help whatsoever please feel free to message me comment me or message me on PSN and if you need my PSNID message me about it as well.
