Dark Souls: Bell Gargoyle

Hey everyone or whoever stumbled upon my little guide but this is a little tips and tricks to take down another of the many bosses in Dark Souls and any new player should know this is a tough fight right here at least for me it was but here we go.

Now for all new players and I mean new in the sense that they didn't touch demon soul's at all but for all new players this has to be the hardest boss they fought so far. But what's this remember this little guy right here?

Yup that's right if you remember I said we would be coming back to Solaire at a later time and this is it, if your in human form when you reach the undead church at the top of the ladder you should see Solaire of Astora there ready to be summoned and ready to help you in the fight and believe me he really does help or if your a pro he gets in the way a double edge sword in a sense. And you will see why soon aaaaanyway back to the fight.

The Bell Gargoyle might be a big lumbering beast but he is a rather strong and strangely quick foe. When he comes down from his perch your going to be face to face once the cutscene ends and the first thing you might want to do (if you don't have Solaire) if run along the edge of the building that way when he swings at you with his axe and his axe...tail he will miss but he also has a fire breath attack that will use if you try to hide. Now there are a few things you can get from the gargoyle but lets wait till he's dead anyway if your going at this alone my best advice is to stick behind him and keep your shield up that way you can block his tail swing and get in a few attacks edgewise. But here comes the bad news once you get him down to half health uhm another gargoyle will join the fight now now calm down the second one will only breathe fire at you so if you can keep the main one away from the second it should still be fairly easy.

But but if you have Solaire the fight gets very easy, Solaire has an amazing lightning based attack which deals a lot of damage to the gargoyle and while its distracted by that you can get some cheap shots in his back and even when the second one appears Solaire will keep the main one distracted and you could easily take out the second one since it mostly focuses on its fire breath attack.  If your either confident or need help you just killed the Bell Gargoyle congrats now lets talk about your loot.

Aside from the souls and humanity you get from killing a large boss you also get a number of different items that all have different drop rates.

Gargoyle Tail Axe- This weapon you get if you cut the tail off the gargoyle (since the second one doesn't even have a tail.) When you do the strong attack the axe will bend a bit since it actually a tail and stuff like that.

Gargoyle Halberd- If you've seen the regular halberd this one is basically one in the same except you get it from the gargoyle of course and is a bit better than the normal halberd as it raises your bleed/curse/poison resistance.

Gargoyle Shield- Don't actually know what it does never really got it on my many playthrough attempts only the helm and axe tail so I might say its an extremely rare drop.

Gargoyle Helm- One of the drops that might occur after you kill the bell Gargoyle it's not really the best Helm to have in the game as its only basic defense and is highly outranked by the Boar Helm if you got it early. I say its mostly a decorative look that says "Hey I didn't completely suck by dying on the first real boss."

But that's all for the drops enjoy your things (remember all these drops are only a slim chance if you want to get any of these things kill the second gargoyle either quit/die/or homeward bone out of the fight and return to try again) but enjoy whatever you got enjoy your souls and ring the bell of awakening. CONGRATS your  first step into Dark Souls has been complete.
